Legionella Risk Assessments and BS8580-1:2019, do your risk assessments comply?
The need for Legionella risk assessments has been around for many years, however, the standard and quality of them can vary greatly.
This session delivered by Pete Tyson to CIBSE West Midlands reiterates the need for Legionella risk assessments and how they are required under the Regulations and Guidance documents.
BS8580 Water Quality – risk assessments for Legionella control – code of practice was first issued by BSI in 2010 detailing what a Legionella risk assessment should include.
This guidance was then updated in 2019, further refining the standards for these risk assessments. With an understanding of the defined requirements within the standard, you will be able to objectively review your current risk assessments to determine how suitable and compliant they are with BS8580.
